We (aka New Hope South Bay) feel very fortunate and honored as a ministry to exist as active participants with so many other great organizations and churches here locally in the South Bay. The favor and openness of groups in our area to collaborate with us has been quite humbling. I think much of this [in addition to the obvious God factor
] has to with:
- several key leaders of our community (e.g., Chris Cannon of King’s Harbor Church, Chad and Bryan of Sharefest Community Development, etc.) extending trust and hospitality towards a new, unproved church like us in their area;
- a fresh movement of churches committed to Kingdom first mentality (e.g., Tree of Life Church, Life Covenant Church, etc.) where God’s work through the churches together takes precedence over the need to be inward focused;
- a new openness of local NGO’s, government agencies, and services to partner with churches in bringing relief and development to the South Bay and abroad; and
- our intentional initiation and investment (time and resources) to the works in our area (both in and out of the faith context).
It’s a good time to be alive! The following are some pictures from our Good Friday worship gathering we (a Foursquare Church remix…encrypted, I know) did with a couple of other churches in the area, specifically, Life Covenant (a cult…just kidding…kind of…) and Tree of Life (a Church of the Brethren, I think women are welcomed as well sometimes…j/k). Also, I would like to give special thanks to Travis Taylor (www.travistaylormusic.com) for coming out and leading us in worship.
Our 3 churches will also be participating in a local project at the end of this month to benefit a local middle school.

“I am beautiful, in every single way…” Sorry. Good summary of the historical development, great coverage of Good Friday. And thanks a lot for mentioning the Brethren. One request, could you please put MORE links to Tree of Life?
Haha… If I thought more links could help your ministry, I would. If people still don’t click after the ones already up, you’re out of luck bro (pun intended). Just in case anyone is reading this, Philip’s church’s website is: http://www.treeoflifela.org (Happy?)
