Yesterday, I had the privilege of interviewing one of my most favorite teenagers in the world. Over the past few years, Zach Hunter and his family have become incredible friends to our family. I love the Hunters’ heart towards compassion and justice. Both Gregg and Penny Hunter (Zach’s parents) have become incredible role models for the way Tina and I raise our own kids.

At the age of 12 (Yes, 12!!!), Zach started “Loose Change to Loosen Chains“, a simple coin collecting campaign to fight modern-day slavery, that has resulted in millions of dollars donated towards worldwide abolition.

In this interview, I wanted Zach to share a little bit about what caused him to connect with issues of justice along with information about his latest book (Believe it or not, his 3rd already!!!), “Lose Your Cool“. In addition, Zach shares about his life at home as well as his passion to help other young leaders pursue their God-given dreams.

I think you’ll enjoy this interview. :) Please be sure to check out the links below for more information about Zach’s latest book.

  1. Charles:
Thank you for sharing this interview! What a great example of being an example.

As a parents of 11, 9 and 6 year old kids, my husband and I desire to instill this kind of passion, empowerment and leadership. It is so refreshing to see. Hats off to Gregg & Penny Hunter for providing the home from which Zach could launch into his God-given call. Good stuff.

  2. When I grow up I want to be like Charles Lee. Seriously.

  3. Awesome interview! God has used Zach in some amazing ways in my life and he has been a big inspiration to me. After reading his first book I decided to do a LC2LC campaign at my church and as I learned more about modern slavery because of that, my heart was more stirred. I’ve come to the point where it’s my dream to work with sex slaves in India someday as a counselor. I’m very thankful for all that Zach has done, is doing, and will continue to do and it’s so cool to see how God is using him.

  4. As someone who is also a teenager with a heart for social justice… I can relate with Zach.I saw him at the Hillsong Miami: Encounter and really want to get involved with LC2LC. I would love 3 copies of this book. One for me to read, and 2 for two of my friends my age, who also want to take the world by storm… and change it.

    Charles:
    Great interview!
I’ve got a 16 year old daughter and we have been talking about reading a book together and discussing what we have read. I think this would be a great read for us.
