An idea is becoming reality today.

I’ve dreamed about putting together an event like !deation for very long time.

I knew it would take years to build the right network and develop the needed skills to gather the caliber of thinkers (both speakers and participants) to one location to consider the future of humanitarian work. I can’t believe this day is here.

It’s not a gathering for “non-profit” celebrities or superheroes of humanitarian care. Although many of those gathering are well-known, they all carry a posture of humility that never ceases to inspire.

We’re going to learn from one another today.

We’re going to commit to working with one another today.

We’re going to inspire and refresh one another today.

There’s too much at stake not to care.

The task it too massive not to collaborate.

The work is too important.

I look forward to life-long friendships and partnerships that will be formed as a result of !deation. More importantly, I’m reminded of the millions of lives that will be benefit because we are gathering.

Thank you for being a part of the journey.

Charles

  7. As I posted on my blog here, you are one of the people that has been instrumental in getting me to move away from doing things in recognition of my gifting and effort to now be in a place of collaboration and not caring who gets the credit. Thanks for being true to that and for modeling it in your own life.

For people to collaborate, someone must facilitate it. Know you are deeply appreciated!

  8. Thank you Charles and all the hands and feet that pulled this amazingly engaging gathering together! I am indeed amazed by the collaborative spirit of everyone present, each org and individual finding their unique roles, and doing good for the whole of humanity. Grateful to be a small part.

  9. Thanks Dave for your note. So glad our paths have crossed. :)

DJ, you’re amazing…so love your heart and continual encouragement. You added much to our gathering.
