Catalyst Conference is coming back to the West Coast this coming April 21-23. It will be hosted again on the beautiful campus of Mariner’s Church. For those who may be unfamiliar with Catalyst, here’s a little excerpt from their website about the conference:

Catalyst is a unique leadership experience that inspires next generation leaders through engaging dialogue, powerful content, and awe-inspiring worship. Catalyst creates moments that leave a mark on each of us, a collective community, experience, and movement that continues to define a generation – The Next Generation – who will envision the endless possibilities of leading change in our world.

Leaders from all over the West coast and around the world will converge – a revolution of ideas where you’ll challenge the process and think unconventionally. Even more than a cutting-edge event, Catalyst is an experience that leaves you enlightened, rejuvenated, and ready to be a Catalyst in your own life and the lives of others. Join this movement of influencers passionate about impacting their communities, their churches, and their culture for Christ.

Catalyst West is truly an experience. Unconventional. Untypical. Unpredictable, and as unusual as the tomorrow we face. On April 21-23 you’ll experience three days designed to challenge leaders to be change agents in a culture that dictates change for the world. Join 3500 great minds who will envision the endless possibilities of giving more, doing more, and living more on purpose for the cause of Christ.

In my opinion, Catalyst is one of the most well thought-through and planned conference out there. It brings together some of the best thinkers in the area of leadership to inspire and challenge leaders of the Church. Their previous speakers have included some of my favorite thought-leaders including Seth Godin, Guy Kawasaki, Scott Belsky, Malcolm Gladwell, and Erwin McManus.

I also appreciate how diverse the speaker line up is for 2010! It so encouraging to see the wide range of backgrounds and passions represented in those who will be sharing, both in the general sessions and the labs.

I’m so glad to see that some of my friends, who really embody the love of Jesus to the world, will be speaking at the event including Cue Jean Marie, Eugene Cho, Jim Belcher, Jon Tyson, Dan Kimball, Carlos Whitaker, Anne Jackson, Justin Mayo, Leroy Barber, Jud Whilite, Mike Foster, Margaret Feinberg, Lisa Sharon, Soong Chan Rah, Erwin McManus, and Tony Wood. (Wow! That’s more than 50% of the people speaking…Love it! Great People!)

Most of all, I love the growing focus of Catalyst towards compassion and justice. Under the leadership of people like Brad Lomenick and Jeff Shinabarger, there appears to be intentional movement towards better caring for humanity. Catalyst partners well with several great organizations in order to strengthen the movement of God’s love around the world.

In closing, here is the promo video for Catalyst West Coast 2010:

  1. What were your thoughts about the website itself?

    ;)

Should be a good event. As usual.

  2. Good to hear from you John :)

I noticed that some on your blog were pretty critical. For me, the overall concept of skinning the site to platform others is great. Love the posture of Catalyst to do that. Thought it was pretty creative.

Nevertheless, I can totally understand how it may appear confusing or hard to navigate for some…maybe a little bit too much of clashing images, words, and textures.

Personally, I had very little trouble navigating and was willing to work through it because I loved the concept. It just sounds like others were not so accommodating on your blog :)

Side Note: Love to chat with you one day. You do amazing work!
