Invisible People – Do You See Them?

My friend Mark (founder of invisiblepeople.tv) was a television executive who used to live large. He had the talent, the goods, and the lifestyle that many have pursued (and still continue to pursue) over the years. Unfortunately, some of the harmful realities of this lifestyle got the best of him. Mark ended up homeless on the streets of Hollywood. During his time on the streets, he came to realize how invisible he had become to the masses.

Mark, by the grace of God and people who cared for him, found his life back again. Although times are still difficult right now for Mark, he has embarked on a video journey to capture the stories of those who live on the streets…those who often become invisible to our eyes.

Mark has taken his skill and his passion to vlog real stories of real people…our houseless friends. I love his work because it captures the amazing street narratives in a raw form…no flash, no editing, no dehumanizing… Rather, his work simply tells the disarming stories that shatter our perspectives of those who live on the streets.

The following is (1) a sample story from his website (www.invisiblepeople.tv) and (2) Mark’s own story captured by a local church.

I love people like Mark. The Marks of the world remind us of what/who we should really see in the world. Although it is difficult to see and hear some of the stories, please do.

Thanks Mark for doing this!

(Side Note: Mark is currently looking for employment. If you know of any openings for someone with his skills, please email me at connectwithcharles@gmail.com).
