I’m currently in the process of tweeking this site with updated information and options. In the process, I’m going through my blogroll and asking whether or not I actually read these blogs.

Sometimes I put on links to people’s blogs because of friendship and partnership in projects. I’m hoping to put links up here that I regularly use, especially since I could always highlight the work of my friends through individual posts.

So…here’s where I need help. I’d like to pick up new blogs to read in the next few weeks.

Would you take a moment to let me know what you read and why? So, I’m NOT asking for blogs linked to your blog that you never read. :) I’m looking for thought-provoking bloggers that inspire and challenge.

Any suggestions?

Those are my “top” bloggers – but it might just be easier to follow me on Google Reader ;-)

  3. Thanks guys! Very helpful links…look forward to taking a look! Thanks for taking time to link all of them.

  4. http://www.43folders.com/ – Merlin Mann on getting things done. Inspires me to be creative and productive.
http://lesswrong.com/ – Eliezer Yudkowsky writes on how to move our beliefs closer to reality. Very challenging. Often makes me feel dumb, but in that inspiring sort of way.
http://experimentaltheology.blogspot.com/ – Thoughtful and often challenging articles on theology.
http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/ – More personal development stuff.
http://www.macrumors.com/ – I just scan the article titles in google reader to see if anything catches my eye. Only challenging/inspiring if you’re a Mac person. ^_^

I also read those emerging guys posted above, and I second lifehacker. The rest of my subscriptions are personal interests (mostly art) that I wouldn’t necessarily recommend to everyone.

You have my permission to remove my blog off of your roll. Someday I’ll post consistently and brilliantly, and then I’ll have legit rights to be on there.

  5. http://michaelhyatt.com/ -Mike Hyatt, CEO of Thomas Nelson Publishers… also an avid social media user, and speaker… writes on publishing, marketing, leadership, christianity, etc…

I recently had the opportunity to meet Mike Hyatt at a social media meeting at World Vision. A genuinely admirable person, as a leader, speaker, marketer and Christian.

  6. Charles, I second the suggestion for michaelhyatt.com. As a Christian CEO and avid user of twitter, he has a great perspective on many things and a great personality.

Here are a few more of my personal favorites:

Love Wins (formerly: Wrecked of the ordinary): http://eloranicole.wordpress.com/ – Elora is real, honest, compassionate, and reveals herself in ways that challenge me.

Live Free: http://www.jasonsalamun.com/ – Jason is a church planter that has a unique writing style. It’s like prose–clear, concise, brief–and thought-provoking. His missional and non-judgmental views are very refreshing.

Michael Harrison’s e-devotion: http://e-devotion.blogspot.com/ – Michael puts thoughts into a biblical perspective and connects thoughts and actions with appropriate scripture. It helps me to keep my focus on God and my actions pure of heart.

Mistake Maker: http://mistakemaker.com/ – Mike Silliman brings to light a lot of issues that affect people every day, but always challenges me to do something about it.

Gregory Boyd: http://www.gregboyd.org/ – Boyd is a student of Dallas Willard and his thoughts mirror mine in many ways. He (unknowingly) mentors me through his books and blog posts.

Steven Furtick: http://www.stevenfurtick.com/ – Furtick is under 30 and leads a megachurch, but he’s very wise for his age and experience. He’s always encouraging and enthusiastic about everything and some days I need some more of that in my life.

Others, such as nextgenerasianchurch.com and L2foundation.org I’m sure you already know about :)

  7. I’ve always like out of ur http://blog.christianitytoday.com/outofur/
for some of the best content around.
more than headline grabbing, he’s got quite a bit of substance

same w/ David Park over @ next gener.asian church who I’m sure u know already
