I got a little insider info a couple of years ago. At some stores (like Target,) the Black Friday prices are on the website a couple of days in advance. Go to your store and pick up your items at the regular price. Then on Friday, bring your reciept to the sales desk and get a refund for the sale price! Avoid crowds and early mornings!

Thanks Kyle for the note. I appreciate your honesty :)

I think like most things in life, wisdom is found somewhere in the middle of two extremes. Glad this post was helpful. Btw, some deals are definitely worth waiting for!

This gives a little bit different view then what most hear about black friday.
I like that this does not have a consumerist feel to it and advocates buying DVD's for a dollar each.

I have been to a couple of black fridays myself and have bought one thing, a 3 gig jump drive for 8 bucks. I usually just go to watch people and to get in others ways and look at the deal. There is just something about having no money to spend that takes the allurement out of buying a bunch of cheap stuff.

But I love that you have taken some time to talk about this as well as offer some advice.
A lot better then what I started to tell people, lets protest black friday and sleep in.

Good stuff
